As an amateur, Jim won almost every trophy available in Ireland – After working in several Photo & Graphic Design Studios, he was awarded the position of Staff Photographer to the N. Ireland Electricity Industry .
He set up a NEW photographic department , a post he held for almost 20 years , during which time he has photographed just about everything from……

Jim was the FIRST Photographer from Ireland to win the prestigious £1000 ILFORD Awards in London
He won this blue ribbon event a total THREE times in
COMMERCIAL , PORTRAITURE , & INDUSTRIAL
A professional for over 40 years, he has been awarded 3 Fellowships :
BIPP – British Institute Professional Photographers.
MPA – Master Photographers Association – London.
RPS – Royal Photographic Society – HQ Bath / Bristol

1997 – First from Ireland to obtain the BIPP Fellowship ,
This panel was also awarded the “Peter Gruegon” Trophy
for MOST Outstanding BIPP Fellowship Panel of the year.
2001 – Selected to serve on the Royal Photographic Society’s Qualifications Panel.
2002 @ BIPP awards in London , won ” Portrait Of the Year“
also “Best Quality Mono Image” in the same Exhibition .
2003 – Best Quality Monochrome print – Joint BIPP / MPA
2004 – TOP Industrial Print of the Year – “ “

Jan 2011 : Jim was awarded Honorary Life
Membership of the British Institute of Professional Photographers – ( BIPP )
July 2011 – Awarded the prestigious Royal Photographic Society FENTON MEDAL, which was presented to Jim by the RPS President, Mrs Rosemary
Wilman on the 8th Sept 2011 at the Royal Society, Carlton House Terrace London, for his outstanding contribution to the work of the Society
Holders of the Fenton Medal are also granted Hon. Life Membership of the RPS.
Sept 2011 - Selected to serve on the RPS Distincitions Advisory Board ( D.A.B.)
