The Royal Photographic Society Fenton Medal

Jim Moreland FRPS from Gransha Way, Belfast , has been awarded the Royal Photographic Society’s Fenton Medal
This Medal is only awarded to a member who has made an outstanding contribution to the work of The Royal Photographic Society.
Jim has been a Professional Photographer for over 35 years,
He was awarded a Fellowship of the RPS in 1999, and this
year was made regional organizer of the Society for N. Ireland.

Jim was presented with the Fenton Medal by the President Ms.Rosemary Wilman Hon FRPS at the Awards Gala on Thursday 8th September at the Royal Society, Carlton House Terrace , London SW1.

Fenton Medal History :

This award, established in 1980, is named after Roger Fenton, one of The Society’s founder members and for several years , its Honorary Secretary.

The Royal Photographic Society was founded in 1853 ‘to promote the Art and Science of Photography’ -
Since 1998 this award also carries Honorary Membership of The RPS Society.

Previous winners of the Fenton Medal have included :
Professor Ralph Jacobson ASIS Hon FRPS .
Professor Mark Haworth-Booth Hon FRPS .
